The 5 AI agents businesses pay agencies $15K for, free on GitHub

The five open-source agents from the AGENTS post: a voice agent, an Instagram appointment setter, a lead-gen agent, an AI clone and a product ad maker, with the repo links and what each one needs to run.

Agencies charge $1K to $6K to set up each of these agents, plus a monthly fee to keep it running. The code is free on GitHub. What you still pay for is what it runs on: AI keys, a phone number for the voice agent, and a GPU for the clone. Start with Harvey or ChatbotX. They're the fastest to get running.

1Voice agent with Dograh

Dograh is an open-source voice AI platform, a self-hosted alternative to Vapi and Retell. It answers the phone and books meetings around the clock.

  • Code: github.com/dograh-hq/dograh
  • Run it: one Docker command. The README has it.
  • For real calls: your own AI keys and a phone number from Twilio or Telnyx.
  • License: BSD-2-Clause, so you can use it for client work.

2Appointment setter with ChatbotX

ChatbotX is an open-source ManyChat alternative built for AI. It turns Instagram DMs into calls booked on your calendar, and it also covers WhatsApp.

3Lead-gen agent with Harvey

Harvey finds local businesses and writes a personalized cold email for each one. You approve every email before it goes out.

  • Code: github.com/ethanplusai/harvey
  • It needs: Python 3.11 or newer. It runs on your Claude or ChatGPT plan.
  • Approval: every email waits for your OK by default. Keep it that way.
  • License: MIT.

4AI clone with Duix-Avatar

Duix-Avatar is an open-source alternative to HeyGen. It makes daily videos of you without you standing in front of a camera, and it runs offline.

  • Code: github.com/duixcom/Duix-Avatar
  • It needs: Windows or Ubuntu with an NVIDIA GPU.
  • License: free for products under 1,000 monthly users. Read the license before you use it for a client.

5Product ad maker with OpenMontage

OpenMontage is an open-source video production system that runs inside Claude Code. Give it one product photo and it makes a short commercial.

  • Code: github.com/calesthio/OpenMontage
  • It needs: Claude Code, plus a video-model key (FAL, for example) or a local GPU.
  • License: AGPL. If you change the code and offer it to others as a service, you have to share your changes.

6Pick your first one

Start with Harvey or ChatbotX. They're the fastest to get running and the easiest to sell, because a booked call or a reply from a lead is a result a business owner understands on day one.
